The main objective of the Health Informatics Laboratory is to cover educational and research needs of the Department of Nursing in the following areas:
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning in health
- Health data management
- Intelligent health information systems
- Intelligent electronic health record
- Health analytics
- Health process analytics
- Biomedical informatics and technology
Specifically, the objectives of the Laboratory are the following:
- The generation, acquisition and dissemination of knowledge and skills on contemporary digital health issues.
- Meeting the educational needs, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, of the Department of Nursing in subjects within the Laboratory’s areas of study.
- Participating in Research and Development projects within the scope of the Laboratory's areas of study.
- Any form of cooperation with research centres and academic institutions in Greece and abroad that deals with the same or similar subjects to those of the Laboratory.
- The organization of scientific events, the creation of publications and editions and the invitation of distinguished scientists.
- The provision of services to state owned and private organizations in accordance with the legislation in force.
